Testing, Teaching and Training
Great care is taken at every stage of an exam preparation course - we:- give every student a preliminary 'mock' test using material from previous exam papers
- discuss (on a 1-1 basis) your performance in this test, and your chances in the exam
- systematically develop the techniques required in the exam
- provide extensive practice in exam material
- give every student a practice oral interview with written feedback
All ELT course teachers have experience in teaching exam preparation courses, plus we have maintained a Cambridge (FCE, CAE, CPE) pass rate of 90% for the last 10 years.
We offer the following exam preparation courses:
FCE (First Certificate of English)
FCE represents a general standard of competence in English and is an effective basis for further study. It has widespread recognition in commerce and industry, e.g. for public contact or secretarial work in banking, airlines, catering.
FCE is not generally accepted on academic courses taught in English.

CAE (Certificate of Advanced English)
This exam offers a high level qualification in the language designed for those wishing to use English in their jobs, at university etc. CAE is also designed to encourage the development of the skills required by students progressing towards CPE with a strong emphasis on real-world tasks.
CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English)
CPE shows an advanced level of competence - recognised as fulfilling requirements in English language for entry to many British and foreign universities. In some countries, CPE is a qualification for teaching English in state schools, and for admission to courses or employment where a thorough knowledge of English is required.
IELTS Preparation and Academic Skills
The IELTS Preparation course is ideal for students who want to do a university degree or diploma in the UK, the USA or attend any other academic courses taught in English.
In order to get the most out of a university or other academic course taught in English, you will need to be proficient in skills not normally important to those who want English for other reasons. You will need to be able to understand the teacher or lecturer, who will use a lot of technical language and vocabulary. You will need to read technical texts efficiently by skimming, scanning and process reading; write coherently and cohesively; describe graphs, charts and processes; and be able to consider questions and answer logically when speaking. The IELTS Preparation course will enable students to succeed at an English speaking university.
